Celebrating Memorial Day 2013 in Tampa Bay

Have you made your plans to celebrate Memorial Day 2013 in Tampa Bay?  Here are a few of the events happening around the Tampa Bay area:

Friday, May 24th through Monday, May 27th - Ultimate Memorial Day Celebration at The Pier - This will be the last hurrah for the St Petersburg Pier

Saturday, May 25th through Monday, May 27th - The Florida Aquarium is offering any active, retired, or drilling reservist and National Guardsmen two FREE tickets to the Florida Aquarium for themselves and a guest.  Up to four additional family members can receive $10 admission.  Hours are 9:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day.  Tickets must be purchased onsite at the Florida Aquarium and Military ID must be presented for free and discounted tickets.

On Saturday, May 25th, the Sunset Music Festival will return to Raymond James Stadium for it's second year.  Beginning at noon, Disco Donnie and Sunset Events will provide twelve hourse of music, dancing, and fun!  General admission tickets are $89 and $94.  VIP tickets are sold out.

Sunday, May 26th, Sunday Concert Afloat - If blues on the water is more your style, the Cross Creek Blues Band will be performing it's 6th Annual Memorial Weekend Sunday Concert Afloat from 1 p.m. to 4:30 (weather and tides permitting).  The "Floating Stage" will be at the sandbar in "P" Channel between Riviera Bay and Tampa Bay.  Admission is free...the catch, you must come by boat, canoe, or kayak!

Monday, May 27th, Memorial Day Military Appreciation at Lowry Park Zoo - opens at 10 a.m. Active and retired military personnel are entitled to free admission to Lowry Park Zoo on Memorial Day. Up to three direct dependents are also eligible for free admission.  Department of Defense photo ID must be shown at ticket counter.

As we remember the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the United States Armed Forces, we thank and appreciate the men and women who have served the military and are still serving today.  Please keep these men and women in your thoughts however you choose to celebrate Memorial Day 2013 in Tampa Bay!
